Translation of the adjective, evil, as in an evil doll.
Is "une poupée méchante" not evil enough ? It wasn't accepted as a possibility.
This question relates to:French writing exercise "Our Halloween costumes"

Hi Frank,
You have answered your own question.
The adjective 'méchant-e' can be just 'naughty' when applied to a child.
We accept -
maléfique
malfaisante
diabolique
personally, I prefer 'diabolique' which comes from 'diable' ( devil) but it's just a preference.
Bonne Continuation !

Bonjour Frank,
I don't know which adjectives will be acceptable but in the context of a Halloween event, I would have used maléfique the opposite of bénéfique.
As I understand it méchante has a sense of bad or poor or miserable, and therefore doesn't fit in this context.
Who knows? Let's see what a staff expert can offer.
Bonne journée
Jim
