Traduites vs Traduisent

"Les aventures d'Astérix sont traduites" - Grateful if you could explain why "traduites" is used instead of "traduisent". My thinking is that the translation refers to the adventures (which is plural).  Thank you in advance!

Hi Sophia,

The expression is -

'être traduit/e/s' = to be translated

Les aventures de Don Quichotte sont traduites par ....The adventures of Don Quixote are translated by ...

Cette  Bible a été traduite par ... = This Bible has been translated by ...

Le Coran a été traduit par ... The Koran has been translated by ...

'Traduisent' is the third person plural of the verb 'traduire' in the present tense

Ils/elles traduisent ce livre en groupe = They translate this book in a group

Hope this helps!
