Rafale de vent

James asked this question a year ago but no answer. I also used rafales for gusts having never encountered bourrasques before.

Bonjour Angela,

Thank you for pointing this out! "Rafales de vent" has now been added as an option.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

They are synonyms, although my understanding is ‘bourrasques’ conveys an indication of greater intensity of the ‘gusts’.
