Why was qui est-ce qui not correct? Qui was the correct answer. I thought the two were interchangeable and both correct?
Look at the following examples and where ‘tu’ is in the question:
- qui – tu = subject
Qui regardes-tu comme ça? = who are you looking at?
Qui est-ce que tu regardes comme ça? = who are you looking at like that?
- Qui = qui est-ce qui - te = direct object
Qui te regarde comme ça ? = who looks at you like that?
Qui est-ce qui te regarde comme ça ? = who looks at you like that?
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
