present vs future tense

La question dit: Comment on peut mieux dire: I'll arrive dans 5 min. J'ai choisi "J'arriverai dans 5 min," mais le correct réponse c'est "J'arrive dans cinq minutes." Pour moi, J'arrive says "I am arriving" vs J'arriverai means "I'll arrive" et ce phrase est le mieux bien qu'on puisse utilizer l'autre aussi. Dit-moi comment j'ai tort. Merci.

Bonjour Ann, There is a lesson that explains the use of the present tense to state a future activity that will occur in a very short time frame, i.e. il arrive dans 5 minutes. il va arriver dans 5 minutes, but the futur tense is used for stating something that will occur in a longer time period, i.e. J'arriverai dans 2 semaines. Bonne chance dans vos études en français.
