I feel like pendant que could be used here instead of tandis que, since we’re talking about a temporal situation. Why is pendant que not given as a possible translation ?
Also, what is the KwizIQ team’s commitment to responding to questions on the weekend workouts? They haven’t seemed very responsive lately.

Here's the sentence you're referring to :
"Mais un jour, tandis qu'il remplissait son traîneau de branchages, il vit dans la neige de petites traces de pas [...]"
Personally, I did consider the usage of "pendant que" here, but to me, this "while" expressed more of a contrast between the 2 actions, I was even tempted to use "whereas" in English (though I know it wouldn't be right). However, I can see how the temporal "while" could also be considered as coherent, depending on your point of view :)
I therefore added "pendant que" to the correct answers.
