Not hearing certain words right

On the section "et il adore les loisirs créatifs !"

- Did not hear ‘et’ at all.

On section: "pour donner à la famille et aux amis."

- She pronounces the ’s’ in ‘amis’, I thought you were not supposed to. That threw me and I got it wrong.

On the section "On va bien rigoler !"

- Far too fast! I replayed that about 10 times or more and could not get a word (as an A1 student)

Hi Martin,

I have checked the audio and it is read appropriately slow for the A1 level.

1. Et is there but as it is a link word,  I wouldn't worry about it too much as it doesn't change any meaning to what is being said.

2. The -s you hear is the liaison between aux and amis -

It is "auZami"

the last -s isn't pronounced but the -x of aux becomes a -z.

3. 'On va bien rigoler' is a phrase which means 'we are going to have a good laugh' and is probably more difficult because quite 'slangish' using 'on' which is harder, and rigoler which is harder than rire.

Anyway, that's my opinion as a teacher.

Bonne Continuation!

Yeah, it's tough. But this is really slooooow speaking for French. Don't tense up, because that makes it harder for you to smile. ;)

What I do is to listen to the recording and read along. Then you read it and listen to yourself.  Then you listen again to the recording, etc. Repeat this for as many times as necessary until you can read that text and sound French. Your brain will do the rest. But only if you manage to smile in between ;)
