le livre d'enfants
This question relates to:French lesson "Expressing possession in French with "de""
Asked 4 months ago
Hi sss,
I have looked at the quiz question and it was -
I have found the children's book behind the sofa = J'ai trouvé le livre des enfants ...
is the correct answer as Jim said it is "the book of the children" in French.
If you had said -
J'ai trouvé un livre d'enfants... = I have found a children's book ...
we wouldn't know who the book belonged to.
also if you said
Le livre d'enfants que j'ai trouvé = The children's book that I have found ...
again we don't know who it belongs to just that it is a book for children.
Hope this helps

Salut SSS,
There needs to be a definite article before the children:-
J'ai trouvé le livre des (de les) enfants.
Bonne continuation
Jim
