Hi Tom,
Both can be said, whether you think of the set expression -
home-made = fait maison
or
if you agree the past participle with what it refers to, here une crême brûlée
une crême brûlée fait/e maison
and both answers are given as possibilities.

I don't know the context, but fait(e) maison respects the gender of the thing that's homemade:
Le pain est fait maison? -- Is the bread homemade?
Oui, cette confiture est faite maison. -- Yes, this jam is homemade.
