When does one use the word "menage" to mean "household"? And when is "bizarre" the right word for "weird"
I have some confusion about synonyms

Hi Kathleen,
The word 'ménage' means both housework and household so it is a question of context.
French 'bizarre' means, odd, strange, or weird ,
'Bizarre' in English means very strange or unusual, a slightly different meaning I think.
Input from others welcome!

Hi Kathleen,
It's a matter of context as to which is the most appropriate, as is the case with English as well.
If you were to quote some instances where you would want to use each then perhaps one of us will be able to advise further.

The French bizarre is a notch less bizarre than the English bizarre.
