No, you wouldn't use un in this context but certains if you mean to say some (specific) teachers.
Some teachers didn't show up. -- Certains enseignants ne sont pas venus.
Note, however, that this meaning of "some" is different from "several" or "a few".

If the question implies some specific teacher, it would be great to add this information as a hint. I agree with David that in English "some" can easily be perceived as a form of "a".
