Gender of droit in directions

I noticed in the exercise "droite" was used for direction to the right, but "tout droit" is masculine for "straight ahead.  Why the difference?

Hi Margaret,

Students always find this odd but they are two different words -

à (votre) droite on the/your right

tout droit = straight on

la droite noun, feminine

droit/e = adjective

I hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure la droite is agreeing with "la direction".
tourner à la direction droite
