Female version of le chameau is la chamelle

Just a little addition to this topic. I don't know what the diminutive word for "little camel" though.

Hi Winston, 

Thank you for your contribution which taught me something!  The baby camel is 'un chamelon'.

This lesson was mainly concentrating on domestic and farm animals although 'un cerf' is definitely neither of those, so thank you again!

Recently visited a EU farm with both hens and turkeys. What are the forms for turkey? In English: mature male turkey (tom), immature male turkey (jake), mature female (hen), immature female (jenny) and turkey babies (poults)

As I write this, it appears that English farm animal names can be a little complicated as well...

La dinde et le dindon ont des dindonneaux

That’s as far as my knowledge of turkeys go I am afraid!
