Bonjour Martin and Maarten,

Thank you for pointing this out @Martin! You are absolutely correct! So, we've amended this part of the text following your excellent suggestion.

@Maarten, your knowledge of Le Tour de France is quite impressive! Your suggestion has been shared with the team and we will make the necessary changes. It's been added to our to-do-list. Bear with us until the changes are made.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !

Aurelie, agree with Martin here ‘… on top of the yellow jersey’ is ambiguous - ‘in addition to’, or ‘as well as’ etc are better, less ambiguous translations.

Also, the script is factually wrong.

The yellow jersey is not necessarily worn by each stage winner. Only the winner of stage 1 is guaranteed to wear the yellow jersey - for stage 2.

The winner of subsequent stages receives a cash prize, but not necessarily the yellow jersey. The yellow jersey is always worn in each stage by the rider with the lowest aggregate time ie the ‘race leader’ (by fastest time across all completed stages) in the ‘general classification’, regardless of whether that rider has won a stage or not.

The yellow jersey wearer from day 3 to the end of the race need not have won any stage, as long as their official race time is the fastest. Riders regularly wear the yellow jersey before winning a stage in the race, and sprinters regularly win stages without wearing the yellow jersey subsequently.

The yellow jersey holder at the end of the penultimate stage is effectively the race winner, as losing time on the flat last stage basically does not happen.

There have been several instances of riders winning the race, not having won a stage.  Only twice in its history however has a rider worn the yellow jersey for the first time ‘in the race’, after its completion. The nature of the last day’s ride has changed since those occurrences.

PS I have just noticed that ‘coureur’ is also mistranslated (in this context) as ‘runner’ instead of rider in the ‘le maillot jaune’ section. It is correctly translated in the final 2 sections.
