Donc si vous avez prévu de voyager

Just wondering why the passé composé is used in this phrase. Thanks for your response.

Hi Susan,

As I see it  -- if a trip is planned, this is an action that takes place before the event of the trip.

So it is a completed task.

This is why I believe that the passé composé is appropriate.

Hope this helps.

I made the same mistake in talking to a native speaker this week and he explained the use of the passé composé exactly as Jim suggested.

Hi Susan,

Just to add to what Jim said we have added 'si vous prévoyez' as both the présent and the passé composé are possible in French.

Donc si vous avez prévu de voyager
