D'immenses vagues venaient vers moi. - why not "Les immenses vagues"?
Why is an indefinite article used here, and definite in the verse "Comme la vague irrésolu"?

D'immenses vagues = (Some) giant waves
Les immenses vagues = The giant waves
They're both correct, it just depends on whether the giant waves are specific - for example, if they've already been mentioned.
As for "la vague irrésolue," that just sounds more poetic than "une vague irrésolue."
