Conjugation of Aimer differs

The answer to Martin likes Sarah is marked differently in different tests:

1) Martin aime Sarah

2) Martin aime bien Sarah

Please explain.  Jane

This question relates to:French lesson "Aimer = to love, like something/someone in French"

Martin aime Sarah. -- Martin loves (=romantic love) Sarah.
Martin aime bien Sarah. -- Martin likes Sarah.

Using aimer with people is always interpreted as a romantic love.
