i  just dont understand how je suis is tu es when its vous etes

There are two versions for "you" in French: tu (informal) and vous (formal). The conugation of être takes that into account.

it's just the rule of the language. As in English, you'd have 'I am'.. 'You are'.. 'He/She is'.. and 'We/They are'..
