I don't find it helpful to learn how to conjugate in the passé simple (no plans to become a novelist). I keep getting passé simple questions in my quizzes, which is frustrating because the other C1 grammar is very useful and I want to master those things. Is there any setting that lets us include/exclude certain material from the quizzes?

Any way to exclude passé simple questions from C1 quizzes?
Hi, Sympathetic,
Just to add to what Chris said, I am transferring your question to the helpdesk as this has been asked before and they should be able to help you.
Please note that this is a holiday period there's only a skeleton staff present so it may take some time.
You may not ever be in a position to use passé simple in writing but if you spend any time in France, you will most definitely encounter it. It is part of the French language, even though it isn't used in everyday language. Reading a book or magazine article will often expose you to passé simple.
Hi Chris, I read French novels and have no problem understanding the passé simple when reading. This is an essential skill, indeed. But it's a different skill than being able to conjugate verbs oneself into the passé simple. That is only a useful skill for a tiny fraction of the francophone population.
Hi Cécile, if it's something that comes up often, then it seems Kwiziq might consider enabling users to opt in/out of certain grammar topics. For instance, I know most of the A0-A2 by heart, but a few of the topics would be helpful for me to revise/practice futher. If I could opt into those, without having to wade through the myriad topics I already know well, it would be super useful!!
