Should it be “dévalisées” because “they” are the “nouveautés” which are female & plural?

... avant qu'il soit dévalisé ( le magasin )
... avant qu'ils soient dévalisés ( sort of impersonal 'they' still meaning the shop )
You cannot 'dévaliser' ( to raid ) une nouveauté.
