This question relates to:French lesson "Job titles differ in French depending on whether you're a man or a woman (nouns)"
Asked 2 months ago
Bonjour P,
That's a really interesting topic! It's important to know that in France, there's no neutral gender compared to the English language. So, in French, even if you say a word such as "auteur", there's already a distinction. So the notion of gendered job titles is very different in French and English. Take a look here for more details on this topic: Féminisation des noms : petite révolution à l’Académie française
Merci de votre excellente contribution ! Bonne journée !
