Why wasn't on se voit used for "see you this week-end ?"

Hi Hana,

Just to add to what Chris said it is the difference between ‘ See you this weekend! ‘ (imperative) and ‘ We’re seeing each other at the weekend’ (affirmative).

So no, they’re not equivalent.

Certainly, On se voit ce week-end is also a possibility that you'll hear in this context. But maybe even a bit more so is à ce week-end.
