Bonjour Katie,

Simply put, "à quoi" means "about what". When asking questions, you can use "à quoi". See the following examples:

Tu penses à quoi ? = What are you thinking about? -> answer: Je penses à ... I am thinking that...
À quoi ça sert ? = What does it do? / What's the point ? -> answer: Ça sert à ...It is used for... / the point is...

"Dont" is a relative pronoun and has many uses:

Dont = whose 

Dont = including [quantity] 

De qui/dont/duquel 

Duquel/de laquelle/desquels/desquelles with prepositional phrases with "de"
