"We improved rapidly" why is this "nous nous sommes rapidement améliorés" instead of "nous avons rapidement amélioré"? I have no idea when to make a verb reflexive!

Kwik Kwiz Question 1Hello, why is it that in all the examples in this lesson 'chaque' means 'each' but the options of answers to this question (Chaque mardi, je vais à la bibliothèque) do not have that as an option (I thought the meaning was 'Each Tuesday, I go to the library')? My best friend Pierre, who until last year shared a 2-bedroom apartment with me in Paris,

Why can't I use l'annee derniere here?? the grammar doesn't explain!

Translation of "Elle a fait de la danse".Why does the Kwik Kwiz say that "She took dance lessons" is the correct translation of "Elle a fait de la danse." instead of "She danced." which was marked as incorrect? There is nothing in the lesson that suggests why this might be so...

Use of etre + descendre/monter in the passe composeI know that you use etre + ascendre or descendre or monter in the passe compose when the verb is followed by a preposition, but I am still slightly confused, with certain situations. For example, I got on.... would be "Je suis monte sur...", But "I mounted.... would be "J'ai monte...." You could say "I mounted the bus." or "I got on the bus." Could you use either, saying "Je suis monte sur le bus." OR J'ai monte le bus?" Is "to go upstairs" "monter l'escalier" or "aller en haut" I have the same problems with descendre. For example, how do you say "I went downstairs"? Forgive the lack of accents. Your advice sheet doesn't work on my computer. Beverley
