Aller à pied...............is always followed by the destination you're getting to:In the lesson it states that "Aller à pied (literally going by foot) is used when walking is contrasted with another means of transport - walking instead of driving for example - and is always followed by the destination you're getting to:" But an example given is: Je voulais prendre le bus, mais finalement j'y suis allé à pied. In what sense is "allé à pied" followed by the destination in this example?

Is it cold?I've tried a couple of alternative ways to say this other than the stock "Il fait froid". I know they are not listed as alternatives, but are mine correct. 1. Il fait mal, can you say this as "Il fait bon" means it's warm/hot? 2 In my experience most native speakers I have met would usually say "Il ne fait pas chaud", or some highly contracted form.

I cannot see the difference between the "imperfect tense" and "avoir l'habitude" eg. [ J'avais l'habitude d'appartenir appartenir ] and [ j'appartenais ]

problem with haîrLe Robert as well as CLE International recommends î in ALL PERSONS singular and plural: je haîs tu haîs il haît nous haîmes vous haîtes ils haîrent

Pour + infin + pp only is in past tense??From reading the explanation above it explains that you can only use pour + infinitive and pp when the action is in the past or have I misunderstood? In the example given it says : Tu auras une médaille pour avoir sauvé ce pauvre chat. You'll get a medal for saving that poor cat. Would it not be for having saved that poor cat?? Thanks in advance!
