Hi I have to choose between 'en' and 'y' to complete the following - on _____ revient tourjours contents. Is it 'en' because or 'revenir de' or 'y' because there is no 'de' here?
Are there more lessons about this pronoun ? I am asking here because Google is being less than useful
Bonjour!
Will this be the negation of the following?
Simple tense : n'en + [verb] pas+ [number]
Close Future : n' aller + en pas+ [infinitive] + [number]
Compound tense : n'en + [auxiliary] pas+ [past participle] + [number]
Merci beaucoup pour votre aide :)
Just a note, when there are tips like the quote below, though this is could be very helpful, the fancy grammar terms without any down to earth french examples right after would make a lot of new students just give up without realizing an example is in the article somewhere. Maybe consider adding examples right after it, at least to save time?
Thanks for the fantastic website!
"Compound tense : en + [auxiliary] + [past participle] + [number]"
Why is it incorrect to say the second phrase?
Tu en tenais deux
T'en tenais deux
One of the examples given here is "Mon stylo s'est cassé alors j'en ai acheté un autre".
It seems to me that "Mon stylo s'est cassé alors j'ai acheté un autre" would work just as well, because "un autre" implies "un stylo". So would the second version (i.e. without "en") be: a) OK; b) clumsy; or c) just plain wrong?
Thanks
Please could please explain to me more on how ''en'' is used to replace plural items
I put t'en for a question and it said it was wrong
3. Nous donne-t-il des billets d'avion ?
