Writing numbers in French and English

The question was how would you write 78,005 in English.  It didn’t say how do you write this decimal number.  I wondered if it was but chose to go with thousands and not a decimal number because it was not specified.

Bonjour Carolyn,

Your first hunch was correct! The rule is as follows: "In French, commas are used where decimal points are in English!" (from the lesson) and it is always the case. So, if you come across a number in French that contains a comma, the same number will use a decimal point in English.

See previous answer here:  In French, 78,005 is equivalent to 78.005 in English

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
