Vous_____ arraignées
I used craignez des araignées while also aware of possibility of vous avez peur des araignées, and was marked wrong. Shouldn't either be correct?
Asked 6 years ago
Bonjour Ann et Chris !
So : Vous craignez les araignées is a correct sentence to say "You fear spiders".
However, like you both pointed out, here the answer already gave you "des", so you had no choice but to use the expression avoir peur de, literally "I have fear of (the) spiders" , hence the use of "des" here :)
Bonne journée !

You should probably say "Vous craignez les araignées" because you fear all spiders and not just some of them. Otherwise both options seem Ok to me.

Oh, my bad! It has to be "des araignées" because the phrase is "avoir poir de qqc!.

But I would still assert that it is "Vous craignez LES araignées". I wonder if Aurélie or Laure could chime in on that?
