Unclear speech.

Unclear speech.

The speech on this exercise is so unclear it's almost impossible for an intermediate speaker to understand. I understand you're trying to provide a variety of accents and voices, but I don't think it helps someone at an intermediate level to give a lesson with a very unclear voice. I played this to a native French speaker, and she had trouble understanding it. Please re-record!

I listened to the exercise and I found it quite clearly enunciated. I know that some speakers may be more difficult to understand for some learners, but that's life. The one in this lesson speaks quite clearly, actually. In such a case, when you have difficulty understanding, I find these points helpful:

1. Listen to each sentence a few times. Don't tense up, just listen and see what you can pick up. Chances are, you won't get a meaningful answer at all, or maybe only a couple of words. That's totally OK. We've all been there.

2. Go on, read the answer to each sentence and re-listen to the audio. This time you should be able to follow along nicely and see where the difficulty in understanding was. Listen to the answer for each part a couple of times until the audio and your understanding have fused.

3. In the end, redo the exercise. Generally, you'll do a lot better the 2nd time over.

Following this process, over time, you'll improve your understanding a lot. It just takes time.

Bonjour Patrick,

Chris's advice is great! Honing your listening skills take time and lots of practice !

I passed on your feedback to the language team and we've agreed to re-record it. It should be done shortly.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
