Je tiens à ces boucles d'oreille comme à la prunelle de mes yeux.I love these earrings dearly.

Bonjour Kim,
It does look strange but it is one of those French idiomatic expressions. “la prunelle de mes yeux” translates to “the apple of my eyes”.
“Tenir à [qch/qqn] comme à la prunelle de ses yeux” means “to hold [sth/sb] dearly” / “to be [sb’s] prized possession".
