"ses parents se sont embrassés"
Literally, this sentence could mean
1. His parents kissed themselves; or
2, His parents kissed each other.
But I cannot figure out how a person could kiss himself, so the 1st meaning makes no sense to me. So, in a multiple choice I would discard the 1st answer, but apparently I was wrong for not including it. Please explain.

Well, we agree that a situation when you kiss yourself doesn't occur often, but it is possible to kiss oneself on the arm or other parts of your body for example. Here it was still an option that you need to be aware of, in case you meet it in a text.
