Rien de and quelque chose

The question used rien d' but the lesson is about quelque chose de. Does the same rule apply to no thing as to some thing?

Note that when it comes to express something + [adjective] in French, you need to add the preposition de after quelque chose.
Although une chose (a thing) is a feminine word, the expression quelque chose is considered masculine, therefore the adjective will always be masculine and singular.
something [adjective] = quelque chose + de + [adjectif masculin singulier] *********de is used after quelque chose, RIEN, quelqu'un, personne + [adjectif] *****
