Bonjour, je me demande pourquoi il y a tant d’enseignants qui disent que le mot « rendre visite » n’est utilisé que la première fois qu’on rencontre qqn ? D’où vient cette idée ?

You would need to ask them if that is what they are saying - it is not correct though.
You might have the wrong word/expression however. ‘Rencontrer’ is used for a first meeting with someone, or chance encounters subsequently. It is not used for repeat arranged meetings.
‘Rendre visite à’ is used to express visiting someone, rather than visiting a place, and does not strictly refer to ‘meeting someone’.
