relever and soulever

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

I would like to know if there is a difference in the usage of these verbs or are they completely interchangeable ?   For example, in the sentence "I lifted up a heavy box", which one would be more appropriate ?

Merci

I believe that "relever" means to address or face or meet something as in "relever un défi" and "soulever" means to raise something either figuratively or literally like "soulever une question" or "soulever une boite".  I'm more confident about "relever" than "soulever".

Why not ask an online dictionary such as www.collinsdictionary.com?
