Placement of adverb and s'informer vs se renseigner

1. "je ferais régulièrement du sport" --> I thought "régulièrement" would go at the end of the sentence, or at least the expression "faire du sport"? I remember this lesson saying that sometimes adverbs ending in -ment go at the beginning or end of a sentence? Position of French Adverbs - with compound tenses

2. I translated "Getting informed" as "se renseigner." What's the difference between this and "s'informer"?

Your second question is answered quickly by a simple Google search: https://hinative.com/questions/87609

There's a subtlety with adverbs expressing a frequency (e.g., toujours, parfois, régulièrement, etc.): they usually follow the verb. Adverbs denoting a specific time can go either at the beginning or end of a sentence (e.g., aujourd'hui).

Long adverbs go either at the end or the beginning, but even then, when you want to emphasize their connection to the verb, you place it right after the verb.

The upshot is, that often times there are several options of where to put the adverb.
