J'irai travailler en transport en commun

It seems to that this phrase means "I will go to work in public transport."  In other words, she will be working for (or in) the public transport system.  Shouldn't it be "J'irai à mon travail en transport en commun."?

Richard, for ‘working in (the sector/the field of) public transport it would be ‘ … travailler dans les transports publics/en commun… ‘. 

Prepositions  - troublesome characters ! 

( in the sentence you noted, it should also be ‘transports’ in the plural, I believe )
