I thought it was "forcer à" and not "forcer de" for "compel to do"? Can this be explained please as it why it's followed with "de"?

I thought it was "forcer à" and not "forcer de" for "compel to do"? Can this be explained please as it why it's followed with "de"?

Seems it depends whether you are ‘forcing’ or ‘being forced’ :

 Forcer qqn à faire qqc - to force (compel) someone to do something 

Être forcé de faire qqc - to be forced (compelled) to do something

In the transcript ‘no one ever feels compelled to (stay)’
