How to combine the imperative + ça

I can't seem to find a straight answer about the use of the hyphen in this situation.  I know that object pronouns are attached to the positive imperative verb with a hyphen, so you would write, "Lisez-le!"  I am also informed that "ça" is a pronoun.  But somehow, I find "Lisez ça", not "Lisez-ça!" and I wonder if anybody has any thoughts about why.

 Bonjour Diana,

Thank you for making such as good point. The answer is that ‘ça’ is a demonstrative pronoun (used instead of ‘cela’) and not a personal pronoun such as me / te … moi / toi / lui … or le / la / lui ...

Therefore the hyphen doesn’t exist at the imperative form with ‘ça’.

Donne-moi ça / cela = give me that

Finis ça / cela finish that

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée!
