Hi If: Il a mal au genou is his knee hurts. Then how do you write He hurt his knee?

You could use ‘se blesser à + body member’ or ‘se faire mal à + body member’

Il s’est blessé au genou = he hurt his knee

Il s’est fait mal au genou = he hurt his knee
