Bonjour Hope !

The hyphen between a verb and its subject (person who does the action of that verb) is there to show these are not in their normal order, in particular in questions when they are inverted and the verb comes first:

E.g. As-tu un frère ?   (Do you have a brother?)  as opposed to    Tu as un frère.  (You have a brother.)
