Habiter gender

Is habite always habite or can it sometimes habit? And if this question is yes, then why can't habite be habit?

Hi Legendary,

Habiter is a verb and there are a number of conjugations of this verb but none of them are habit. Habit is a French noun meaning an item of clothing (countable) or clothes as an uncountable noun. So habiter as a verb cannot become habit as a noun.

Hope this helps.
