Thank you both for your answers ! The link mentioned by Chris has a very good explanation about the difference between 'ennuyeux' and 'ennuyant'. As Maarten pointed out though, 'ennuyeux' is mostly used nowadays (at least, in France - and as mentioned at the end of the article in BDL) rather than 'ennuyant'

Ennuyant less commonly used in France now - mostly ennuyeux. Differences in other countries (Belgium noted).

Yes, there is a difference but it is based on regional usage outside France. 'Ennuyant' is little used in France itself according to both Larousse, and the Academie as per quote below:

Vieilli. Qui chagrine, importune ou contrarie. Il m’arrive une chose vraiment très ennuyante. Ce contretemps est bien ennuyant ! (On dit aujourd’hui Ennuyeux.)
