"none of them is good" is not correct or appropriate english grammar. the correct phrase should be are, not is. I am seeing several english grammar mistakes in here. quite disappointed.

The sentence is not wrong, the grammar is correct in British English.
This sort of issue has been discussed previously. It is most likley regional difference, as the verb in singular form here is in keeping with the formal style in writing that the Oxford dictionary notes on British English use. It is also noted that either singular or plural verb form may be used.
