This is so tedious. I will never have to take an exam in French. I just want to communicate in French. I will never be in a position to make such fine distinctions as this. This is just discouraging.

Bonjour Celena,
Learning a foreign language does seem very difficult at times and there are so many different nuances and grammar rules that you feel it is unsurmountable. And I am speaking from experience. However, do believe me when I say it is achievable ; although not overnight ;-) . The main thing is to make sure that you keep finding it fun and that what you are looking at is relevant to you and your needs as a learner. A little practice each day would be great!
I would suggest going through the Reading practice exercises first, then the Writing and Listening exercises, as well as the Vocabulary lists to improve your prior vocabulary knowledge. These are full of fun and interesting facts and expressions about France and French related topics:
Listening (Listening is the more difficult skill but practice is key)
My advice would be to follow the links to the grammar lessons (included in the yellow bar which you get by clicking on the French expressions from the text). Although you might not feel like it all the times.
Vocabulary lists (click on one and you’ll also see a link to a fill-in-the-gap exercise related to the vocabulary list)
You can also follow this link on how to improve your French through reading: https://kwiziq.learnfrenchwithalexa.com/learn/reading/improve-reading-skills
Finally, I have included a link to our glossary of French grammar jargon (just in case)
And if you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée!
Try creating an intensive notebook with just two or three items and keep testing.. just look at it daily until it clicks.. then demote it to your ordinary notebook until you are completely happy.
