Difficult for me to know when du or de des I know is plural but this is a tough one for me. I don't grasp it.

Chris is absolutely correct! This is indeed a topic that is tricky for new learners but don't feel discouraged. It takes time to get to understand the difference and it is by practising more and more than you'll master this.
Follow Chris's suggestion and don't hesitate to ask questions (even if you feel silly - We, Kwiziq experts/teachers, love questions!! ;-) ). Also, have a look at the first two lessons in this link and do the micro-kwizzes: Article partitif
