confused with de..a and du.. au
This question relates to:French lesson "Expressing intervals of dates and times in French = from ... to ..."
Asked 2 years ago
Simply put, it is de..à -- from..to. That's all you need to remember. In practice, this means that de..à becomes du..au if you need an article to specify the time/date. For example, you need the article to you specify a certain day of the month, e.g., le 25 juillet. In this case, the article contracts with the prepositions. There is a specific lesson about how to specify a date: Expressing dates in French
De mai à juillet. -- From May to July. (No article needed)
Du 25 mai au 25 juillet. -- From 25 May to 25 July. (Article needed)
