What's a better dictionary for English to French translations? I've been using Google Translate, but there are many words, like "a ride"....translated to "un tour" and not "une manège" OR "queue line" translated to "la file d'attente." Concerned I'll be using some archaic or a rarely used definition.

Bonjour Theodore,
As Anne explained: "Nothing is infallible". There are many online translation tools avaiblable. We’ve reviewed French grammar checkers and how to use them effectively here:

I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
Nothing is infallible but Linguee is good. For example, searching "ride"results in six or so possible French translations, and you can then click on any of them to get a whole batch of sentences using it: https://www.linguee.com/english-french/search?source=auto&query=a+ride That can be refined by searching Le Robert Dico en Ligne (https://dictionnaire.lerobert.com/) - the entries are all in French, but it gives synonyms and examples and will also comment if a word is either very informal /offensive or very formal/archaic.
