agreement of past participle with verb in number

why is it (nous) sommes alles but nous avons adore...  Why does alles correspond to the 2 people involved but adore is singular.  I don't recall the lesson in which the verb does or does not agree with the number in the subject.  (and why can't I type accents in this part of the program???)

Nous sommes allés  --  être requires past participle agreement with the subject Nous.

Avoir does not require such agreement in the construction Nous avons adoré

In order to type the accent, press and hold the letter you want and the accents will appear- you just need to choose which one you want.

I can press and hold the letter involved when I'm doing an exam or a dictee but in the Q & A section, par example, it doesn't work.  I admit to being a computer jerk (I'm old and have come to this technology later in life) so this doesn't come easily....
