acquérir - past participle acquis

Question

I had not come across this verb before, and thought it would behave like an ir verb wth a past participle of acquéri. Could you tell me which other verbs follow the same pattern as acquérir? Or is it completely irregular?

Really irregular - acquérir et conquérir etc See wordreference.
The verb ‘quérir’ exists also, from a different origin, and only used in infinitive form, so despite some sites showing conjugation tables for this verb, they are mistaken (one I found showed identical patterns to acquérir and conquérir). Larousse has it correctly listed though.

Is it acceptable to say - le Luxembourg peut se prévaloir d'avoir une histoire particulièrement riche. It wasnt accepted and wanted to check if it was appropriate in this context ?
