Dans la phrase "...donc je suis resté à la maison...", j'ai choisi "chez moi " au lieu de "à la maison". Pourquoi est-ce que "chez moi" n'est pas correct ?

À la maison vs. Chez moi
This question relates to:French writing exercise "My weekend's activities"

There's a difference between chez moi and à la maison. Chez moi is generally "at my place" or, in a more general meaning also "with me". À la maison literally means "at the house". You wouldn't use it if you lived in an apartment, for example. You also wouldn't use it to mean "with me" in general. It is a more specific statement of "at home" if you live in a house.
